I'm Greger Stetz, an architect based in Malmö, Sweden.
Here, I share updates on our projects and explore various ideas related to architecture, city planning, and their intersections with science and other disciplines.
Feel free to ask any questions and selected questions I will answer here!
Here comes our project for a restaurant located in the post-industrial area of Slakthusområdet in Stockholm.
The building design is inspired by the existing local architecture. The walls are constructed entirely of solid brick, and the openings are designed as arches, reflecting the local style. As the American architect Louis Kahn once said:
"You say to a brick, 'What do you want to be, brick?' And the brick says to you, 'I like an arch.' And you say to the brick, 'Look, I want one, too, but arches are expensive, and I can use a concrete lintel.' And then you say: 'What do you think of that, brick?' Brick says: 'I like an arch.'"
